the Sleipnir Puppet i sculpted at Supanova! :3
Sliepnir Puppet commission.
a commission i only just finished a few days ago, but he just has his debut at Supanova Melbourne yesterday, and the day before. part of the commission with him was that until he was shown, i was not allowed to post anything about him online…. so finally i can!
Sleipnir, or slippy as myself, and commissioner call him, is a roughly life size, semi-stylized 8 legged animations foal puppet.
he is based on the Norse myth and is Loki’s son.
many many months of work went into making this fella. and its great to see him finished!
despite looking soft and squishy. only his neck is soft. the rest is all solid and fully sculpted out of lightweight materials, and made in such a way he can bend and move. he can lay on the floor, or flop in your arms. he however can not stand on his own.
materials:
polystyrene, resin, paper mache, glass balls, fake fur, polar fleece, felt, acrylic paints, gauche paints, plastic balls, stuffing, tape, elastic, silicone tubing, actuators, wiring, testers, buttons, switches, bolts, PVA and over 100+ hot melt glue sticks.
i think that was them all…

These little guys are so adorable. They’re not mine (the green eyed one belongs to Shelbelly and the brown eyed one to Lillykitten) but they are visiting me at the moment. I was commissioned to make them those wonderful bright pink wigs! The wigs aren’t completely done yet, they still need to be cut and styled, but I loved how they looked like this so I took a few photos.
I also have a new-found respect for people who photograph Pukipukis. They’re so tiny and light and the big lens on my camera doesn’t play nice with things that small!
Coconut and Martini are Puki Puki PongPongs
Eeeee look at them!
